Which one "some file" (exactly)? We are not a mind-readers here.

To ALL WShots.net Members:

I GeneNiki am the provider of the FTP Files.
In the last 12 Months ALL FTP files were LEECHED ;8 Times!
It takes no time to Download the Files, (LEECH) from the FTP_Server!

For GeneNiki to REDO and UpLoad the Files to the FTP_Server again (for the Members of this Forum),
it takes TEN times the Period of time for me to UPLOAD to the FTP_SERVER. as it took Someone to Download (or LEECH) the Files!
Until GeneNiki finds a way to Stop the LEECHING, I will NOT Upload to my FTP_WShots_Server.
If you want the Latest Webshots, You will have to come to the WShots.net Forum and Download with Rapidshare (provided by serggy)!!

If someone has any ideas of what the best way to avoid the LEECHING is, Please contact GeneNiki and I will try USING it;
If it works I will use it and Upload the Files AGAIN to the FTP_2_WShots_Server.

I think the answer is something about privileges. Anonymous logins (to all downloaders) must be only without privileges (no password needed, no shared password - privileges and password only to FTP's administrators). The way to do this... sorry, I do not know. Can anyone tell us?

I know there is a way to download files from FTP without permissions to delete them! These are "privileges" configured in FTP account. Normally it's to anonymous logins with no passwords. The permission (privilege) it's to downoads only!

What do you mean by "LEECHING"?
Leeching is the ratio between incoming and outcoming traffic. If you consume MORE than you provide - you're a leecher. FTPs are always to be the leecher's heavens, as you (normally) permitted only to download, but not to upload. Thus you'll consume more from FTP than you able to provide to that.
It does NOT mean that someone will delete your files or something. Just make the PROPER PERMISSIONS and your files will be read-only to public.

I can do such of FTP easily if someone interesting. And please stop talking about "leeching" as this is NOT the question.
The question is to make the proper access rights. Administering your content properly, on other words.

PS: this is also coming to users as well. The registrations and the bots, I meant.
PPS: if someone simply get your files deleted - then you should call that "I was hacked!". And that is the time to check the logs and get rid of the security hole you was hacked through...As simple as a "moo".

Hello I 2 weeks try download 2006 2005 year from ftp. And always get access error. Very boring.
Why only use FTP? U can try use cloud services. There is one - if up to 8Gb store absolutly free. Enough for webshots. U get direct links to files, no one can delete them, only download except admin. Only difference from ftp, u cant open directories, only files. ps И почему все пишут на английском, наверняка все русский понимают тут.
