The Snow Goose is a migratory bird that is a prominent feature at the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico. This refuge is one of the most important wintering grounds for Snow Geese in North America. Each year, thousands of these birds migrate from their breeding grounds in the Arctic tundra to spend the winter months in the milder climate of the southwestern United States. Bosque del Apache, which means "Woods of the Apache," is renowned for its diverse bird populations and is a popular destination for birdwatchers and photographers. The refuge spans over 57,000 acres and provides a variety of habitats, including wetlands, grasslands, and woodlands, which are ideal for supporting a wide range of wildlife.
