I'm glad to present my collection of the ALL webshots posters 2000pixel wide to all of our members - just for free!
The total posters count is 15'044 files, 6'206'308'352 bytes all together.
All posters are in their original JPG format w/o any modifications.
Here are ALL posters available from webshots.com as per July, 2012.

The full filelist is HERE (900Kb). Please request the posters from the FTP properly based on this file, otherwice you'll get "Not found" error.
This is just the quick good example: ftp://wbz-anon:wbz@2..._poster2000.jpg
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Parasite,

thanks a lot for your efforts of saving that ole Webshots Posters in 3:2 format. I have a direct, but slowly access via Total Commander...
I think it's a good idea to backup those files before WS shall delete them all from their old address at http://www.wshots.ne..._poster2000.jpg.

Hallo Hallo I'm back again

@Бегемот

Use these for FileZilla:

Host: 210.213.57.85
Username: wbz-anon
Password: wbz
Port: 21

After the connection go to Wbshots.posters.2K directory
and then open the subdirectory with posters (the first
is 00000-00999 and the last is 84000-84341).

Спасибо за Ваш кропотливый труд. Все как надо установилось.
Меня только одно смущает: отсутствие оригинального названия файла после номера ID
>
Many thanks. I'm afraid only that. There are no original file-name after ID -number.

There ARE original file-names after ID -numbers.

All posters were named this way: xxxxx_poster2000.jpg, and there are NO descriptions given by Webshots to their posters. These are not a daily WBZ (where WBZ format is a container, contains the standard but header-encrypted .jpg AND the text description at the tail). Posters are different - they are just a plain JPGs without any description (but some have EXIF, if you like that - like the camera's model, copyrights etc).

Or you may just easily take the descriptions from the corresponding WBZs, if you have'em - as the IDs are identical. A small script will do the trick. :)

@ Бегемот
The Metadata are saved at th the end of each WBZ-File. I've written a small tool (Visual Basic) that extracts those informations and write it to a Comma Separated Value-File (.CSV). The only efforts that you have is to gather all .WBZ-files in one folder and than run the tool. Here is an example for July 2012.
But you can also collect those informations separated for each file with a simple text-tool to open the WBZ-file.

@ Parasite
WBZ-files are containers including only one encrypted file. This file has the extension *.WB1 and is an encrypted JPG-file. *.WB1-files starts always with the header WWBB1111. *.WB1-files contains no information.
WBZ-files store their information at the end (footer) beginning with the string "info.wbx" and the [Header]-section.
I suppose Webshots/AG does store their Meta-Information within a file called "info.wbx" and compressed them together with the above mentioned WB1-file into a containerfile *.WBZ.

Here is an excample for the filelength in Bytes:
3338121 = Terceira Island, Azores
extracted real JPG-File: 708.059 Bytes
encrypted WB1-file: 708.067 Bytes
containing WBZ-file: 709.718 Bytes.

Please notice that the difference in filelength between *.JPG and *.WB1 is always 8 Bytes ! ;)

Yep. I know.

*.WB1-files starts always with the header WWBB1111. *.

Not always, but in most cases.
I have WBZs where JPG is not encrypted at all (and thus starts with "JFIF" signature instead of WWBB1111). I can email to'ya if you want some.
In general, there are TWO (or even three...sorry I forgot - last time I hex'ed that somewhere in 2001) different kinds of WBZs around, and the type of encryprion is stored in da container, too.

WB1-files contains no information.

WB1 is just a standart JPG with encrypted header only - and, as a standart JPG, it MAY contain information.
You can even add your own copyrights to any JPG - and simply re-encode this to WBZ along with the .wbx too. Not a deal. :)

Sure. And these bytes are the signature "WWBB1111" right prior the encrypted jpeg's starting point. :)

From which source did you get those WBZ-files ? From this forum. I weak remember that in 2004 (or so) some WBZ (in wide screen reoslution) were manually created...These are pseudo-WBZs without WB1-files within.

I know that I can add some descriptions, copyrights and other EXIF-Information into a Picture (even to camouflage text and passwords within). I mean informations concerning Webshots (ID, categopry, album, credits, DailDate and so on...).

From the WS website of course. No, those are not wide - but ALOT of normal ones. Not so many as "normal" WBZs, but still enough to make any researches (say - a hundred, or two).

There are indeed a few types of WBZs around. I may dig for the sources&manuals at my own old backups and archives (slow), or you may just trust my words (immediately). :) Im hardly a newbie with WS.

These are given as a plain text right after the JPG body, yes. Very easy to parse that. :)

An "Old school" group is better [by the meaning], I bet. Im not a "guard" of anything, though. :)

So, do you want some WB0-encoded WBZs as a sample? I may share some wiz'ya, just to let you investigate the whole subject.
